[Locomotive-users] Modified Locomotive?

I have performance problems with the Locomotive client app in that it
just bounces in the dock for a few minutes before the client windows
shows up and the app can be used.

I would like to ditch the use of the client app and build a system
preference panel to do the same job (also help keep the desktop clean
and improve the at boot loading abilities).

I am wondering if there is anywhere I can look to see what the current
client is doing so I can keep things consist ant with the Locomotive
core and/or if there is anything that I need to worry about in using
the bundles.

Better yet.. maybe someone is already doing this and there is a share point?
